In 'On Tyranny', Timothy Snyder offers twenty essential lessons from the 20th century to face today's challenges to democracy. It analyzes how Nazism and Communism arose as reactions to globalization and the perceived inability of democracies to address inequalities. Snyder highlights the importance of learning from European history to avoid repeating mistakes and protect societies from tyranny. This book is a practical and thoughtful guide to understanding and defending democratic values in the 21st century.
