«Shakespeare on Golf» is the humour and golf book by John Tullius and Joe Ortiz, published by Hyperion in hardback (128 pages, in English).
The book transfers Shakespeare's wit to golf: it reinterprets quotes from his plays as comments on the game and imagines the playwright as an Elizabethan golfer. Harry Trumbore's caricatures show him in full swing, with absurd dialogues. A humorous homage that reminds us that fairways are not always fair.
Full title with subtitle: Shakespeare on Golf: Wit and Wisdom from the Great Elizabethan Golfer and Poet. It is the first edition, from 1997.
Suitable as a gift for golfers with an interest in literature and for readers seeking cultured, light-hearted humour.
