«Seyvoz» is the novel by Joy Sorman and Maylis de Kerangal, published by Gallimard in paperback (128 pages, in French).
Tomi Motz, a fifty-year-old engineer, arrives at the Seyvoz dam to inspect its facilities. The dam's construction in the 1950s buried a mountain village and scattered its inhabitants; that past returns as Tomi suffers sensory and psychological disorders that blur the landscape and his own reason.
This edition belongs to the Folio collection and was published in September 2024.
«Seyvoz» is a read for those who appreciate contemporary French narrative and stories about the weight of the past on the landscape.
