«Setmana Santa, segles d’esperança» is a religious essay by Josep Lligadas Vendrell (Centre de Pastoral Litúrgica, paperback, 80 pp., in Catalan).
During Holy Week the liturgy highlights the Old Testament readings, especially those of the prophets. The author reads them not as a simple historical memory, but as a sign of a human and believing hope that is reborn in Jesus Christ and in present-day life. The work proposes rediscovering the relevance of that message.
Volume 49 of the Emaús collection. First edition published in 2002; includes illustrations by Montserrat Cabo Nadal.
A work intended for readers interested in Christian spirituality and the liturgy of Holy Week.
