«Señora Doubtfire» is Anne Fine's young adult novel, published by Alfaguara in 1994 in paperback (168 pages, in Spanish).
Daniel, an unemployed actor and separated father, barely sees his three children because his ex-wife, Miranda, only allows it on Saturdays. When she looks for a housekeeper, Daniel presents himself as Mrs. Doubtfire and starts working in his own home. The comedy of errors gives way to a bittersweet look at separation, fatherhood, and identity.
The work was originally published as «Madame Doubtfire» and inspired the film starring Robin Williams and directed by Chris Columbus.
For young readers and for those seeking a family comedy with emotional depth.
