«Seda y pincel» is the costumbrista novel by Marco Álvarez, Caleti, published by Esstudio Ediciones in paperback (282 pages, in Spanish).
The novel follows Paquita, a young Menorcan bourgeois woman who in the 19th century defies her father to marry a young man doing military service in Menorca. The narrative combines costumbrismo, historical chronicle and family memories, with Paquita's nostalgia for her Antillean origins, in a love story with a close, colloquial style.
The work was first published in 2015 and this edition by Esstudio Ediciones is part of the Edición Rúbrica collection.
For the general public interested in Spanish costumbrista and historical narrative.
