«Schlampenyoga» is the non-fiction and humour book by Milena Moser, published by Heyne Verlag in paperback (256 pages, in German).
After a crack in her back, Milena Moser, a self-declared sofa addict, decides she needs to move: something that looks after her back and isn't exhausting. In her search through yoga fads, from power yoga to dog yoga, she finds absurd anecdotes and characters, and writes an ironic guide to the world of wellness and enlightenment.
The full original title is «Schlampenyoga oder: wo geht es hier zur Erleuchtung?», and the work was first published in 2005; this Heyne Verlag edition is from February 2007.
For readers with a level of German that allows them to appreciate the self-ironic humour and stories about wellness culture.
Milena Moser is a Swiss writer. Her first language is Swiss German. She has emigrated to the United States twice, in 1998 and again in 2015, but German remains the language in which she writes, and in which by 2018 more than twenty of her novels had been published.
