«Santa Maria de Besalú» is the historical monograph by Nazaret Gallego Aguilera, published by Papers On Demand in paperback (398 pages, in Spanish).
Study of the canonry of Santa Maria de Besalú between the 10th and 12th centuries: erected in 977 next to a comital castle, it attained the episcopal see in 1017 and lost it in 1020. The excavation of the east end and the re-reading of documents allow a reconsideration of the identity and chronology of its buildings, with new hypotheses on early Catalan Romanesque.
The book, published in 2008, is volume 7 of the Studia collection.
Suitable for researchers and readers interested in medieval Catalonia, ecclesiastical history and Romanesque art.
