«Rompepistas» is the coming-of-age novel by Kiko Amat, published by Editorial Anagrama in hardback (320 pages, in Spanish).
The action takes place in the summer of 1987, when Rompepistas, a punk from the outskirts of Barcelona, lives for the music of Generation X, the Clash and the Jam and plays in Las Duelistas. Along with Carnaval, Clareana and the Chopped, his best friends, he gets caught up in a war against a rival band; the story deals with friendship, guilt, family, redemption through dance and the loss of innocence.
It is Kiko Amat's third novel, published in the Contraseñas collection by Anagrama.
A read for lovers of contemporary fiction, the punk scene and coming-of-age stories set in the eighties.
