«Rome past & present» is the illustrated guide to ancient and modern Rome by Romolo Augusto Staccioli, published by Visions Publications in English (100 pages).
The book covers the main monuments of Rome, such as the Colosseum, through current photographs and graphic reconstructions of their original appearance. A visual folded-corner effect allows comparison of the present with the past and appreciation of the city's urban evolution. The work functions as a visual guide, with maps and references to complementary multimedia content.
The full title of the work is Rome Past and Present: With Reconstructions. The book includes a map and a CD-DVD ROM; the cover also mentions the Roma City Guide app.
For readers interested in the history of Rome and travellers wishing to compare current archaeological remains with their original appearance.
