«Réquiem por Granada» is the historical young adult novel by Vicente Escrivá, published by SM in paperback (328 pages, in Spanish).
Boabdil, last king of the Nasrid Kingdom of Granada, recalls from a Bedouin camp his childhood and the defeat at the hands of the Catholic Monarchs: the struggle for the throne with his father, Muley Hassan, the latter's love for the Christian captive Isabel de Solís, and a court where passion, war and politics herald the end of Al-Andalus.
The work belongs to SM's Gran Angular collection (no. 116); the cover marks it as the 3rd edition, and it was first published in 1991.
Aimed at a young adult audience, also appealing to those interested in the history of Al-Andalus and medieval Spain.
