«Rendre la raison populaire» is the philosophical essay by Michel Onfray, published by Editions Autrement in paperback (94 pages, in French).
Michel Onfray explains, defends and champions the Popular University of Caen, created in 2002 in response to the rise of the far right in France. He recovers the Enlightenment ideal of Condorcet and the work of Georges Deherme to bring knowledge closer to the working class, and advocates a dialogic, critical philosophy removed from academic dogmatism.
It belongs to the collection «Universités populaires & Cie» and is subtitled «Université populaire, mode d'emploi». It was published in 2012.
For readers interested in philosophy, in the figure of Michel Onfray and in popular education as a tool for emancipation.
