«Psicoanálisis de los cuentos de hadas» is the psychology essay by Bruno Bettelheim, published by Editorial Crítica in paperback (448 pages, in Spanish).
Bruno Bettelheim analyses the psychological function of fairy tales. Stories such as Little Red Riding Hood, Cinderella, Snow White or Hansel and Gretel show how they help children understand their fears and desires, and overcome internal conflicts. Each tale acts as a magical mirror of the child's inner world and offers comfort and models of maturity.
It belongs to the Ares y Mares collection, of which it is volume 1, and the translation is by Silvia Furió.
Recommended for parents, educators and readers interested in child psychology and the symbolic interpretation of classic tales.

Bruno Bettelheim was an Austrian-born American psychologist, scholar, public intellectual and writer who spent most of his academic and clinical career in the United States. An early writer on autism, Bettelheim's work focused on the education of emotionally disturbed children, as well as Freudian psychology more generally. In the U.S., he later gained a position as professor at the University of Chicago and director of the Sonia Shankman Orthogenic School for Disturbed Children, and after 1973 taught at Stanford University.
