«Private Eye Annual 2019» is the annual of political humour and satire edited by Ian Hislop, published by Private Eye in hardback (96 pages, in English).
The volume brings together the best humour and satire published by Private Eye magazine in 2019: jokes, cartoons, parodies and sketches about the year's political and social figures and events. The cover imitates that of a tabloid, with absurd headlines and satirical cartoons.
It is part of the Private Eye Annual series, as volume 24; it went on sale on 25 October 2019.
For readers with an interest in British political and media current affairs who appreciate Private Eye's satire and cartoons.
Ian David Hislop is a British journalist, satirist and television personality. He is the editor of the satirical magazine Private Eye, a position he has held since 1986. He has appeared on many radio and television programmes and has been a team captain on the BBC satirical quiz show Have I Got News for You since its inception in 1990 and remains the only person to appear in all of its episodes as the other team captain Paul Merton didn't appear in 7 of the 8 episodes of series 11 (1996). Hislop has frequently been involved in legal battles, as Private Eye has often been sued for libel over the years.
