«Pre-Raphaelite Cats» is the illustrated humour book by Susan Herbert, published by Thames & Hudson in hardback (64 pages, in English).
Susan Herbert turns Pre-Raphaelite painting into a playful visual exercise: her cats take the place of the figures in paintings inspired by Rossetti, Ford Madox Brown and Holman Hunt, among others. The book combines the aesthetic refinement of that movement with a marked feline sense of humour.
The original edition dates from 1999; the volume belongs to English graphic humour and pictorial parody.
Recommended for art lovers and cat lovers who want a light-hearted view of Pre-Raphaelitism.
