«Poésie et lyrisme» is an anthology of lyric poetry from the Étonnants Classiques collection, published by Flammarion in paperback (128 pages, in French).
The term «lyric» refers to the lyre: in Antiquity, lyric poetry relied on musicality; it then came to express the poet's intimate feelings; after Romanticism, that subjectivity was questioned. The anthology shows that lyricism remains alive and is one of the great trends of contemporary poetry.
This edition of Poésie et lyrisme has 128 pages and includes a photo section dedicated to the history of the arts.
Designed for students of French literature and for readers who want to follow the evolution of poetic lyricism from its origins to today.
