Piso el barro, barro el piso

Synopsis of Piso el barro, barro el piso

«Piso el barro, barro el piso» is the slice-of-life graphic novel by Juan Berrio Martín-Retortillo, self-published in hardback (64 pages, in Spanish).

«Piso el barro, barro el piso» invites readers to notice the gestures and routines that usually go unseen; the volume lingers on minimal everyday scenes and how the present chains itself to the quotidian. The work's visual narrative turns the ordinary into material for unhurried observation, with a tone close to costumbrismo.

First edition published in Spain on 5 November 2015; the title carries the subtitle «o Encadenado al presente».

For those who enjoy the detail of daily life and author-driven visual storytelling.
