Perfecto López, conocido como O Tato da Valiña, nació en A Toxa-Vimianzo en 1904. Trabajó como jornalero y carbonero antes de emigrar a Argentina, de donde regresó tras desempeñar diversos oficios. De nuevo en Argentina, hizo fortuna con la representación y venta de vehículos estadounidenses, fundando una empresa que empleó a muchos vecinos de Galicia. En 1950, en Buenos Aires, fue elegido presidente de la Asociación ABC del Partido Judicial de Corcubión, colaborando en la financiación de la estancia de Alfonso Castelao y su esposa en Argentina. Este libro revisa su vida y su legado en la Galicia exterior en esas décadas cruciales para entender el país.
