«Nieve roja» is the historical essay by Fernando and Miguel Ángel Garrido Polonio, published by Oberon in paperback (304 pages, in Spanish).
The authors investigate the death of Mariano Polonio, a young man from Domingo Pérez (Toledo) who volunteered for the Blue Division, on the Russian front in 1942. From the promise to recover his body, his nephews reconstruct a search marked by the distrust of veterans, disinformation and mass graves.
The first edition dates from 2002, published by Oberon within the Anaya group, and includes a prologue by José Antonio Gómez Marín.
A work of interest for readers of historical memory, the history of the Blue Division and Spanish participation in World War II.
