This book is a literary and visual guide to Barcelona, which proposes a tour of the landscapes of various writers who have contributed to making the city a literary myth. Through urban itineraries, the reader will discover medieval Barcelona, that of Quixote, that of Barón de Maldà, that of Verdaguer and Maragall, that of George Orwell and Mercè Rodoreda, and that of more contemporary authors such as Vázquez Montalbán, Montserrat Roig, Mendoza and Ruiz Zafón. The book asks whether the lived or the imagined city is more real, and whether the former would have been the same without the latter.
