«Para una voz sola» is a book of five short stories by Susanna Tamaro, published by Seix Barral in paperback (192 pages, in Spanish).
Five stories give voice to the pain of innocent beings: abused children, lonely women, men who abuse their wives, and dangerous adolescents. Beneath an apparent everyday calm hides a world of violence narrated with precise language and an impassive tone, where barbarity becomes delicacy.
Original title: «Per voce sola», published in Italian in 1991. Translation by Guadalupe Ramírez. Part of the Biblioteca Formentor collection.
For readers of contemporary fiction interested in Italian literature and stories about human vulnerability.
