Interviewed by Sergio Rubin and Francesca Ambrogetti, Jorge Mario Bergoglio reviews his life up to the papacy: his family's arrival in Buenos Aires in 1929, his religious vocation, the seminary and the Argentine dictatorship. He also reflects on prayer, interreligious dialogue, poverty, humility and the renewal of the Church.
The conversations that gave rise to the book took place over three years. 190 pages; Italian edition published by Salani in 2013.
For readers interested in the figure of Pope Francis, contemporary Catholicism and testimonies on the renewal of the Church.
Pope Francis was head of the Catholic Church and sovereign of Vatican City from 13 March 2013 until his death in 2025. He was the first Jesuit pope, the first Latin American, and the first pope born or raised outside Europe since the 8th-century Syrian pope Gregory III.
