Synopsis of Oído atento a los pájaros

Oído atento a los pájaros is a suggestive novel in which Luis Goytisolo displays his interest in the formal features of the narrative and the evanescent border between truth and fable. The story follows Ramón Rada, a successful painter who, facing a turning point in his life, decides to write his memoirs to reinterpret his artistic work. Through his memories, the reader is transported to the town of Miralrío, a mythical space where the discovery of a corpse reveals a series of tragic events that occurred forty-five years earlier, in the context of the Spanish Civil War.
