Three short novels, delicious and full of humor and suspense, by two of the most popular and recognized authors of fiction in the Portuguese language. In the story «O terrorista elegante» (written jointly under a shed in Boane, Mozambique), which gives the book its title, an Angolan is arrested in Portugal on suspicion of participating in acts of terrorism. The man claims to be able to fly and talks to a little bird in prison, who seems to give him the necessary instructions to carry out his mission. «I've come here to kill.» This is how the protagonist of «Chovem amores na rua do matador», the second story, finally intends to make peace with his past: by killing the three women in his life. The night in the city is plunged into chaos and, as the conflict unfolds in the dark streets, a masked stranger looks for someone to kill. In «A caixa preta» (like the previous one, the third story was written in different places, exchanging messages, one author adding the other's text), generations of the same family are forced to face their best-kept secrets. The three novels that make up this book are based on plays written jointly by the authors and commissioned by the theater groups A Barraca, from Lisbon, and Trigo Limpo - Teatro ACERT, from Tondela. However, after informal conversations in the beautiful and historic city of Paraty, in Brazil, these plays were rewritten by the authors in the form of short stories. Two of the greatest authors of the Portuguese language come together for the benefit and joy of their readers.
