«O processo Violeta» is the romantic novel by Inês Pedrosa, published by Porto Editora in paperback (232 pages, in Portuguese).
In festive Portugal of the late 1980s, Violeta, a 32-year-old teacher, becomes pregnant by Ildo, a 14-year-old student. The newspaper O Insubmisso discovers that the boy's father is a bullfighting aristocrat. The scandal contrasts with the silence of Ana Lúcia, Violeta's friend, who hides her rape by another student.
First edition published in 2019.
