«Nouvelles policières» is the anthology of detective stories by Conan Doyle, Malet, Boileau-Narcejac, Dahl and Daeninckx, a Hatier paperback.
Five detective stories showing the evolution of the genre: from the classic Sherlock Holmes enigma in «Le ruban moucheté» to Didier Daeninckx's neo-polar in «Les poissons rouges», with pieces by Malet, Boileau-Narcejac and Dahl. Everyday objects trigger crimes; the edition adds questionnaires and notes for studying the detective story.
French-language edition, 143 pages, published on 16 April 2003. Belongs to the Œuvres & thèmes collection (Classiques Hatier) and includes the complete text of the stories.
Aimed at secondary-school French students (4e programme in France) and readers who want to approach the detective story with pedagogical support.

Sir Arthur Ignatius Conan Doyle was a British writer and physician. He is best known for his four novels and fifty-six short stories about the fictional consulting detective Sherlock Holmes and his assistant Dr. Watson, which are milestones in crime fiction, and for his first work featuring Professor Challenger, The Lost World (1912), which gave its name to a subgenre of speculative fiction. He was a prolific writer who produced over 200 stories and articles, four volumes of poetry, and a number of works for the stage. He was knighted by King Edward VII in the 1902 Coronation Honours.
