For many years, Monsieur Jean worked as a concierge at the famous Grandhotel Tour au Lac in Zurich. When he is suddenly retired, he wonders what to do with the rest of his life. But then he picks up his little notebook, in which he always carefully and discreetly recorded the wishes and secrets of the hotel guests and employees - and suddenly he has a great plan. Too many things that have not yet been brought to a good end are waiting for someone who could change this. Inconspicuous as is his way, Monsieur Jean begins to pull the strings: with his own intuition for people, he intervenes in the fate of those who have lacked a special talent for happiness until now.
