«Miguel de Cervantes: De la vida al mito» is the catalogue of the eponymous exhibition at the Biblioteca Nacional de España, published by that publisher in paperback (288 pages, in Spanish).
Catalogue of the exhibition held at the Biblioteca Nacional de España between March and May 2016, on the occasion of the fourth centenary of the death of Miguel de Cervantes. The show brings together pieces from the Library's own Cervantes collection, considered the most important in the world, and from other institutions such as the Archivo de Indias, the Museo del Prado and the Real Academia Española. It is organised into three sections devoted to the man, the portrait and the myth of the writer, and covers his childhood, his participation at Lepanto, his captivity in Algiers, his novelistic output, his relationship with the writers of his time and a large section dedicated to Don Quixote.
Published in 2016 by the Biblioteca Nacional de España with the collaboration of Acción Cultural Española. The project was directed by José Manuel Lucía Megías, with advice from José Álvarez Junco, Javier Gomá and Carlos Reyero, and included loans from archives, libraries and museums.
Recommended for those interested in Miguel de Cervantes, Golden Age literature and catalogues of cultural and commemorative exhibitions.
