«Mentira» is the contemporary fiction novel by Enrique de Hériz, published by Edhasa in paperback (648 pages, in Spanish).
During fieldwork in Guatemala, a mistake leads people to believe the anthropologist Isabel García Luna is dead, and she decides not to clear up the misunderstanding. From that silence, the novel weaves together her family saga with various parallel stories in which lies, myth-making and secrets shape the characters' destinies.
It won the 2004 Llibreter Prize for best novel of the year. This edition belongs to Edhasa's Pocket collection and appeared in 2006; the novel was originally published in 2004.
For readers of contemporary fiction and family sagas where lies and concealment sustain the intrigue.
