«Memorias de un enano gnóstico» is the historical novel by David Madsen, published by El Aleph Editores in paperback (384 pages, in Spanish).
The work collects the fictional memoirs of Giuseppe Amadonelli, Peppe, a deformed dwarf born in fifteenth-century Italy. After growing up in the alleys of Trastevere and travelling the country with a travelling circus of deformed beings, he reaches the Vatican palaces and becomes chamberlain and confidant of Pope Leo X.
The book belongs to the Modernos y Clásicos collection (no. 147) and is a translation from English; the original title is «Memoirs of a Gnostic Dwarf».
This novel is for adults fond of historical fiction who appreciate a grotesque and mordant recreation of the Italian Renaissance.
