«Memorias de Cortadillo» is the young adult novel by Julio Manuel de la Rosa, published by Alfaguara in paperback (164 pages, in Spanish).
Diego Cortado recalls his eventful life, marked by his encounter and friendship with Miguel de Cervantes. His memories take the reader to Seville in the 16th and 17th centuries, amid bustling streets, taverns and popular characters, and reveal the most human side of the author of Don Quixote.
It is part of the Alfaguara Serie Roja collection (Alfaguara Juvenil), published in 1998.
Given its youthful nature, it is ideal for young readers and for those who enjoy historical fiction set in the Spanish Golden Age.
