«L'ultimo sopravvissuto. Una storia vera» is the autobiographical testimony of Sam Pivnik, published by Newton Compton in hardback (315 pages, in Italian).
Sam Pivnik was thirteen when the Nazis invaded Poland and changed his life in Bedzin. In this testimony he recalls the two ghettos of his city, half a year on the selection ramp at Auschwitz-Birkenau, the Furstengrube mining camp, the death march, and the bombing of the ship Cap Arcona, from which he escaped by swimming.
The work was originally published in 2012; this Italian edition is from 2016. It is part of Newton Compton's 'Fuori collana' collection (number 143).
For readers of history and memoirs of the Holocaust and World War II.
