«Los romanos. Tito: El martirio de los judíos» is the historical novel by Max Gallo, published by Alianza in hardback (400 pages, in Spanish).
Serenus, a Roman citizen, lived through Nero's last days and accompanied Vespasian and Titus in the campaign against the Jewish rebellion in Judea. After the devastation of Jerusalem and the fall of Masada, he recalls his conversations with Flavius Josephus and his admiration for Berenice. What he experienced makes him wonder whether the God of Jews and Christians will punish Rome.
This novel is the third installment of the quintet «Los Romanos», included in the Alianza Literaria collection, with a translation by Wenceslao Carlos Lozano González.
