«Los amantes de Isabel II» is the biography of Queen Isabella II written by Manuel Barrios, published by Ediciones Temas de Hoy in paperback (255 pages).
The book covers the reign of Isabella II (1833-1868) and the queen's sentimental life, marked by her failed marriage to her cousin Francisco de Asís de Borbón and by a succession of loves. Barrios combines that intimate biography with an overview of the political and social events of Spain at the time.
It belongs to the collection «Historia de la España sorprendente» and includes bibliographic references at the end.
A book for those interested in the history of Spain, the 19th-century monarchy, and biographies with a sentimental background.
