«López Bravo: Una biografía» is the biography of Gabriel Pérez Gómez, published by Ediciones Rialp in paperback (334 pages, in Spanish).
It covers the life of Gregorio López Bravo, naval engineer and Minister of Industry and Foreign Affairs during Franco's regime, who described himself as a «repressed liberal». Without sharing the dominant Falangist ideology, he promoted a realistic policy that opened Spain to Eastern countries, China, the EEC and the USA, and died in a plane crash.
First edition published in August 2024. Part of the «Biografías y Testimonios» collection.
For readers of political biographies and Spanish history interested in the Franco era and diplomacy.
