In the Dakota tribe, Huchté, a young Indian, feels different from the others. While the other children run, dance, and hunt, he limps. The taunts about his deformed foot fill him with sadness and he longs to disappear. In those moments, Huchté seeks solace in the prairie, where he finds his wonderful animal friends. These friends will guide him to happiness and show him a new path in life.
