«L'Inde: Un million de révoltes» is V.S. Naipaul's travelogue, published by 10/18 in paperback (666 pages, in French).
Naipaul travels through his ancestral India and, through interviews and encounters, paints a polyphonic portrait of the country. He probes the contradictions of faith, social tensions and political power, giving voice to many interlocutors to show the individual revolts that coexist in Indian society.
It is the third volume of Naipaul's Indian trilogy; the English original, India: A Million Mutinies Now, appeared in 1990, and this French edition in 1994.
For readers of non-fiction, travel and history, with an interest in India and the narrative perspective of a Nobel laureate in Literature.

He is known for his comic early novels set in Trinidad, his bleaker novels of alienation in the wider world, and his vigilant chronicles of life and travels. He wrote in prose that was widely admired, but his views sometimes aroused controversy. He published more than thirty books over fifty years.
