«Les récrés du Petit Nicolas» is the children's storybook by Jean-Jacques Sempé and René Goscinny, in paperback edition (135 pages, in French).
Little Nicolas and his gang get up to mischief at school, especially during break times. Agnan, Eudes, Alceste, Rufus, Clotaire and the others give the supervisor, the headmaster and the teacher not a moment's rest, and every school day becomes a succession of scrapes told with humour.
Second title in the Le Petit Nicolas series, whose original edition appeared in 1961; in Folio Junior it is number 468.
Aimed at young readers aged 8 to 12 and at students of French as a foreign language.

Jean-Jacques Sempé, usually known as Sempé, was a French cartoonist. He is known for the series of children's books he created with René Goscinny, Le Petit Nicolas, and also for his poster-like illustrations, usually drawn from a distant or high viewpoint depicting detailed countrysides or cities. For decades, he created covers for The New Yorker.
