Les jours s'en vont je demeure

Synopsis of Les jours s'en vont je demeure

«Les jours s'en vont je demeure» is the memoir by Pierre Bergé, published by Gallimard in paperback (192 pages, in French).

Pierre Bergé evokes the men and women who marked his life and, taking Jean Cocteau's aphorism that every portrait is a self-portrait, traces his own itinerary. Without having kept a diary, he relies on a selective memory and reveals his recollections like a photographic negative, giving shape to the presences that populate his memory.

The book is classified as a biography in bibliographic records and was published on 16 January 2003.

For readers interested in the personal memory of French figures and in twentieth-century intellectual circles.
