«Leben und Schriften der Heiligen Klara» is the hagiographic work by Engelbert Grau, published by Dietrich-Coelde-Verlag in hardback (202 pages, in German).
The work presents the figure of Saint Clare of Assisi through her biography and writings, translated into German and annotated by Engelbert Grau. It brings together the saint's texts and the account of her life attributed to Thomas of Celano, one of the earliest testimonies of the Franciscan tradition.
Fourth corrected edition (1976) of the series Franziskanische Quellenschriften, vol. 2, with bibliographic references and index. The translation is based on the Latin text of the bull of 9 August 1253.
For those interested in Franciscan spirituality, hagiography and the history of the Poor Clares, and for scholars of the Middle Ages.
