«Le Tunnel aux pigeons: Histoires de ma vie» is John le Carré's memoir, published by Éditions du Seuil in paperback (368 pages, in French).
John le Carré looks back on his life from British intelligence service during the Cold War to his writing career, with stays in Beirut, Cambodia and post-wall Russia. With a lucid and ironic eye, the author combines historical testimony with an inquiry into memory and the craft of writing.
Work originally published in English as «The Pigeon Tunnel: A Life of Writing»; the French edition belongs to the Cadre vert collection and the translation is by Isabelle Perrin.
For readers of memoirs and spy fiction, and for John le Carré fans interested in the Cold War.

David John Moore Cornwell, known by his pen name John le Carré, was an English author. Many of his espionage novels have been adapted for film or television. He has been described as a "sophisticated, morally ambiguous writer", and is considered one of the greatest novelists of the postwar era. During the 1950s and 1960s, he worked for both the Security Service (MI5) and the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6). Near the end of his life, le Carré became an Irish citizen.
