«Le pouvoir et la vie» is Valéry Giscard d'Estaing's book of political memoirs, in paperback, in French.
The former president looks back on his final years in power (1978-1981): how he experienced the successes and failures of his government, who the protagonists were, and the modernisation of France within the framework of European construction. He describes the 1981 campaign as the outgoing president, the personal attacks and his determination to maintain contact with the French people.
This edition brings together the first two volumes of the memoir trilogy: 'La rencontre' and 'L'affrontement'.
For readers of French political history, especially the presidency of Giscard d'Estaing.
