«Le Négationnisme économique» is the economic essay by André Zylberberg and Pierre Cahuc, published by Flammarion in paperback (240 pages, in French).
«Economic denialism» is the name they give to the counter-truths that politicians and the media present as miracle remedies: cutting taxes, increasing public spending, curbing immigration or setting a 32-hour working week. The authors argue that economics is an experimental science based on facts and that these slogans impoverish the country and cost jobs. The work offers tools for detecting imposture and avoiding demagogy.
Published in 2016. It received the Special Jury Prize Turgot 2017 and includes an unpublished preface by the authors.
Work for readers interested in economics, politics and critical analysis of public discourse.
