«Le monstre et autres pièces» is Ágota Kristóf's collection of plays, published by Seuil in paperback (187 pages, in French).
It brings together four theatrical pieces: in one, a gigantic animal falls into a trap and the villagers end up loving it when flowers sprout from its back; in another, a village isolated by a suicide virus sees a rescued girl show ingratitude. The book closes with a fable about a concrete world and a blind man and a deaf man sharing a bed.
Originally published in 1994; this edition came out on 10 May 2007.
