«Lawrence de Arabia. La corona de arena» is the memoir book by T. E. Lawrence edited by José María Álvarez (Planeta, paperback, 1995, 223 pages).
In these memoirs Lawrence evokes the Arab revolt against the Ottoman Empire: the desert tribes advancing to Damascus, the manoeuvres of the powers and the treaties that, in his view, conditioned its outcome. It includes portraits of Emir Feysal, General Allenby and Audá Abu Tayi, and delves without concessions into his own life.
It belongs to the collection «Memoria de la historia»; the edition includes bibliography and index.
Recommended for readers of military history and biographies, with an interest in the First World War, the Near East and travellers' memoirs.
José María Álvarez was a Spanish poet and novelist.
