The Pregnant Widow is a novel by the renowned author Martin Amis, set in the summer of 1970 in a castle in Italy. The story follows Keith Nearing, a twenty-year-old, and his girlfriend Lily, who find themselves in the midst of the sexual and feminist revolution. In this context of change, Keith faces challenges such as seducing Scheherazade, his girlfriend's friend, and building his own identity. The novel explores themes of love, desire, and the search for oneself in a transforming world. With an agile and provocative narrative style, Amis offers a critical and entertaining look at the society of the time.
