La tía Julia y el escribidor es una novela semi-autobiográfica del reconocido escritor peruano Mario Vargas Llosa. Ambientada en la Lima de los años cincuenta, la historia sigue a un joven aspirante a escritor, Mario, cariñosamente llamado 'Varguitas', quien trabaja en una radioemisora. En paralelo a su ambición literaria, Mario se enamora de su tía política Julia, una mujer divorciada catorce años mayor que él, desafiando las convenciones sociales y la oposición familiar para formalizar su relación. La novela explora temas de amor, ambición, y la peculiaridad de la cultura popular a través de los seriales radiofónicos de Camacho.
