«La promesse de l'apiculteur» is the romantic novel by Fiona Valpy published by Éditions de Noyelles in paperback (398 pages, in French).
After a romantic disappointment, Abi Howes spends the summer at Château Bellevue, in rural France, where she discovers the story of Eliane Martin, a woman who in 1938 looked after the estate's beehives. Between the romance with Mathieu Dubosq and the German occupation, Eliane ends up getting involved in the Resistance, a past that resonates in Abi's present.
The French edition was published in 2019 and appears in the literature and fiction and romance categories.
Recommended for readers of historical romance who appreciate dual-timeline plots and the setting in occupied France.
