«La mujer del pelirrojo» is the crime novel by Bill S. Ballinger, published by Plaza & Janés in paperback (256 pages, in Spanish).
The novel alternates two levels: the odd chapters narrate in the third person the flight of Mercy and Hugh from New York to New Orleans, and the even ones collect in the first person the investigations of the detective who pursues them. Set in the 1950s, it combines suspense, pursuit and moral reflection.
The work was originally published in 1957 under the title The Wife of the Red-Haired Man and appears in the Black collection from Plaza & Janés.
Recommended for readers of classic crime fiction and for those who enjoy pursuit plots and crossed perspectives.
