«La Moisson du Phénix» is the autobiographical novel by Han Suyin, published by Le Livre de Poche in paperback (450 pages, in French).
The work is set between 1966 and 1979 and shows how the Cultural Revolution transformed the lives of the Chinese. Han Suyin and her family lived through those events, and from that experience emerges a testimony to a people's resistance in the face of catastrophe, in which passion and love survive everything.
Fifth instalment of the family saga that Han Suyin began with L'Arbre blessé, Une fleur mortelle, Un été sans oiseaux and Ma maison à deux portes, about her family and China over the last two centuries.
Recommended for readers interested in the history of China, the Cultural Revolution and family memoirs.
